Why a Behavioral Consultation is an Investment

  • "When you hire a dual certified Certified Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA) and Certified Professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA), you are not just paying for my time. You are investing in over 15 years of study, practice and pattern recognition.

  • 15 years of seeing hundreds of dogs allows me to see the root cause of a behavior, potentially saving you months of ineffective training.

  • For every hour we spend together, I spend additional time developing a roadmap and training plan that is unique to your dog, environment and lifestyle.

  • Our Goal is Independence: My mission is to give you the tools so that you can be your dog's best trainer, companion, protector and advocate.

WHAT WILL MY PRIVATE TRAINING SESSION BE LIKE?

  • Sessions are held at the Training Center at 145 Lincoln Rd in Lincoln. The first session is $150 and is 90 minutes. All subsequent sessions are $100 and 60 minutes.

  • If you would prefer an at-home visit, please email me at meghan@lincolndogtraining.com or call/text me at 617 256 7173. At home sessions are $200 for an initial session and $125 for all follow up sessions. At home sessions cannot be scheduled online.

  • Training begins with a brief client interview, where I work to understand what each client would like to achieve with their dog. After each session, every client receives an email with training instructions and multiple helpful resources.

DO YOU WORK WITH KIDS?

Yes! I work with kids 6th grade (11 or 12) and up, as long as the puppy or dog is generally friendly without any aggression. Animals are SUPER important to some children, and it can be a wonderful learning experience for both the pet and child. I strongly suggest the following in most cases:

  • Supplement the training with a class or hire a day-trainer, who will take your dog and train them while you are at work. Kids are great, but dogs generally take them a bit less serioiusly than adults. There will be some limits to what your child can do, but don't let that stop you from making your kid a top co-trainer!

  • Have the session at the training center. You are free to observe or use my office for work. Kids and dogs get very easily distracted, and being in a dedicated training space really helps!
